Video conferencing tool inside the LMS

BigBlueButton is a video meeting tool that allows teachers to teach online with different functions available in its environment:
- video meeting
- presentation board
- play and watch an external video together with the class
- publish a quick poll
- breakoutroom
- on-screen drawing and illustration
- students can raise hands
- public/private chat
- shared notes, etc.
Gikadai LMS is equipped with BBB thanks to its joint access to servers of the Bluesky project, which builds a group of shareable BigBlueButton servers that could be used by many universities in Japan.
As for 2022 to 2023, we are experimenting the tool and the collaboration model with the Bluesky project.
On the BBB page in the LMS, the users can click "Join session" to join the meeting.
The following picture shows the interface of BBB meeting.
If the meeting is recorded, the recordings will be listed on the BBB page in the course.
